Goring Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility and we have a role to play in protecting children and young people from abuse and neglect. In order to do this, we follow the government guidelines for keeping children safe in education and the Oxfordshire County Council guidelines for recruitment and for safeguarding children.
The Designated Teachers for Safeguarding are:
- Mrs Wheatcroft (Headteacher)
- Miss Grey (Part Time Deputy Headteacher)
- Mrs Mitchell (Part Time Deputy Headteacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
- Mr Monk (Senior Business Leader)
The Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Amanda Clegg.
Many people do not act because they are worried about being wrong. You don’t have to be absolutely certain; if you’re concerned a child is being abused or their safety is at risk, speak to Mrs Wheatcroft, Miss Grey, Mrs Mitchell or Mr Monk without delay. You could be providing the missing piece of information that is needed to keep a child safe.
Child abuse. If you think it, report it.
If you are a child and you need to talk to someone please talk to an adult in school who you trust. If you can’t do this, please contact Childline or phone 08 00 11 11.
